Your friends are either gone or fleeing there’s no time left for disagreeing

The time has come to freeze or fly, so clear your head or say goodbye

Then it occurs to me, there’s nowhere anyway we planned to be

We didn’t see the coming storm but we had our little corner where we could keep warm

Sometimes I think it’s better not to feel

When we find we have so much left we’re waiting to reveal

Once everyone and everything has gone back to the dirt

The last heart beating is the last one hurt

Oh I was in a state of grace when I met you in a simpler place

And now that we are back in touch – I knew I’d missed something but I never knew how much

So I don’t really need the buffer, I’d rather stay right here than suffer

And just when I get ready for the fight - that’s when most things finally turn out right

So why’d I think it better not to feel

When we find we have so much left we’re wanting to reveal

Once everyone and everything has gone back to the dirt

The last heart beating is the last one hurt

And now you ask where I belong but I don’t know if I’m quite that strong

To make that claim without a doubt while I’m still wondering how this all worked out

So I know we’ll stay right here together there’s so much left we’ll have to weather

Then it’s over in a second flat - but we’re gonna have to learn to live with that

So I guess that it’s not better not to feel

When we find we have so much left we’re ready to reveal

Once everyone and everything has gone back to the dirt

The last heart beating is the last one hurt

The Last heart beating is the last one hurt

Prose Poem

Growing up a friend here where all things end, you and I are eventually left alone, seeped in regret. Ran into you on a corner, near where the hillsides whispered our collective name, where the lawn b

L is for: Like

Alive and thinking, Dave was as well. Like Knowing what he know, he listened and spoke, Lit new fires. He had been torn apart, for reasons. Like Knowing he needs. Why couldn’t he say? Chorus: you did.

K is for: Knock

I heard a knock upon the door: You’ve come to tell me what I need. But I, not lost upon this shore, Have looked away and failed to heed. Instead have heard, oh wondrous sound, A world that you can n
