Or the opposite of you

Changes at the instant of definition,

Reverses at the end of sex or song

(Every genre/gender).

Gone the minute it’s declared

Flashing on to the next idea

                                      or moment.

Held forever or summarily forgotten, as the horse

swishes its tail to swat a fly,

Displaying its masterpiece in the gallery of the air –

At once everything and nothing,

All joy and sadness,

Inevitably connected to war, hatred, desire

                                       love, peace, contentment.

Though the great masters of the past and present continue their dissent.

The world could not be otherwise,

Or it would not be the world.
